M. Travis DiNicola brings nearly 30 years of experience leading mission-driven nonprofits in education, the arts, environmental advocacy and social services. Originally from Pennsylvania, his career began in Indianapolis, where he served as executive director of Indy Reads and founded Indy Reads Books, a nonprofit bookstore and community arts center.
A storyteller at heart, Travis has conducted more than 2,000 interviews with artists and performers as co-host of “The Art of the Matter” on WFYI public radio. He’s also a published author and podcaster, with his mystery series, “Paint by Murders.”
Most recently, Travis served as Vice President of Development for “because I said I would,” a national nonprofit dedicated to promise-keeping and resilience. He also held leadership roles with PennFuture and numerous arts and environmental organizations in both Indiana and Pennsylvania.
A proud Penn State graduate with degrees in theater and art education, Travis now lives in Midtown Harrisburg with his wife, Michelle – and their eight cats. When he’s not working or writing, you’ll likely find him kayaking on the Susquehanna River.
