I was born and raised in Virginia and YES… I do have a southern accent! I am from Blacksburg, Virginia, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. I have lived in Lancaster County for the past 23 years and feel completely at home here. My husband and I met in Charlottesville, Virginia in the mid 80’s, we were married and then moved to the west coast and settled in Southern California for several years. Later, after the birth of our first two children, we decided to relocate back to the east coast to be closer to our families. We have three grown children, two sons and one daughter.
Throughout my career, I have always been drawn to customer service related jobs, mostly because of my love for helping others. I have had a wide range of work experience, all of which have been very meaningful to me and have better prepared me for my role as Membership Development Coordinator to The High Center for Family Business. My love for people makes working in The High Center even more exciting, as I am able to communicate with and assist our members on a regular basis. Great satisfaction has resulted in my life, as a result of, my attention to detail, strong values and hard work ethic.
I studied for two years at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, Virginia and then transferred to SouthEastern Academy in Kissimmee, Florida earning my degree in Hotel and Travel Industry Management. In the early 1980’s through the 1990’s I was active in the travel industry, working for American Airlines in customer service management and as a corporate and group specialty travel agent. I was employed at Hershey Medical Center as an administrative assistant to Orthopedic surgeons and was also a licensed medical transcriptionist for many years, while raising my three children. I then found my way into higher education and obtained a position with Elizabethtown College in 2007. I feel blessed to have worked at Elizabethtown College for the past nine years; and now in my current position in The High Center, I feel completely at home. I thoroughly enjoy helping our members to understand and to navigate our three core services: Ownership Surveys, Leadership Speaker Series and Executive Peer Groups.
It is my hope that you will reach out to me in the future if you have a question or need my assistance with any of the Center’s programs and I look forward to getting to know each of you better.
